You are correct!

Each week, I ask a question about a common running science myth. Answer correctly and you'll be entered into the weekly raffle.

Stress fractures most often become symptomatic in what window relative to the week you “overdid it”?

A. During or immediately after the offending workout 🚨⚡ (14%)
B. 24-48 hours later, as inflammation peaks 🔥⏰ (26.2%)
C. 1-2 weeks later, often after a recovery week when you feel great 🧱⌛ (30.3%)
D. 4-6 weeks later, once cumulative microdamage crosses a threshold 🦴📅 (29.4%)
Why this is right
Bone injuries have a delayed presentation. Microdamage accumulates silently, and pain often shows up days to a week or two later — right when you think you got away with it. That’s why “it only started hurting on Tuesday” almost always traces back to something you did the previous week.
